Valoriza modernises Miramundo waste plant to boost sustainability in Cádiz
The facility incorporates new treatment and automation lines with an investment of more than 14 million euros to improve waste management in 33 municipalities in Cadiz

Cadiz, 9 May 2025.
The Miramundo waste treatment plant, located in Medina Sidonia and managed through the joint venture led by Valoriza, has completed a major modernisation with an investment of close to 15 million euros. This action reinforces the commitment to the circular economy and improves the efficiency and sustainability of waste management in 33 municipalities in the province of Cadiz.
Among the most relevant improvements are the automation of processes through intelligent sorting technology, a new glass recycling line with a recovery capacity of more than 4,400 tonnes per year.
These actions have been promoted by the Consortium for Urban Waste Management in the province of Cadiz, in collaboration with the Provincial Council and the local councils, and reflect a firm commitment to modernising environmental services and adapting to new regulatory and technological challenges.
Valoriza stresses the importance of continuing to transform waste into resources and moving towards a more responsible, innovative treatment model that is aligned with European climate objectives.
